KS4 Art

Year 10 - Curriculum Information

GCSE Art students will follow the AQA Fine Art Syllabus.

Students will complete 2 major coursework projects, which will form 60% of their final GCSE grade.

Project themes are varied each year and past projects have included:

- Architecture

- The Figure

- Natural Forms

- Animals and Insects

- Mandala Art

- Landscapes

Year 11 - Curriculum Information

GCSE Art students will complete and review each of their Coursework projects, which will contribute to 60% of their final GCSE grade.

Nov – Dec

Students will complete a Mock examination project.

Feb – April

Students will complete the AQA externally set exam, which will contribute to 40% of the final GCSE grade.

Key Stage 4 - How parents/carers can support their child

GCSE students are expected to attend Art Coursework Club at least once a week.

Art Coursework Club is held in at least one of the three art classroom (MG17, MU49, MU33) Monday to Thursday.

Parents can support their child by encouraging them to attend afterschool sessions each week.

GCSE Art students would benefit from having some basic art materials at home such as coloured pencils and paints.
