Peer Mentor Scheme
The Peer Mentor Programme was set up in 2009 with the aim of providing a support service for students by students.
We currently have a team of Peer Mentors, who are available to speak to students in a confidential setting. They can help with organisation or can listen to any worries a student might have such as bullying, friendship issues or homework.
Peer Mentors are also assigned to year 7 forms to help their transition into secondary school and are also available as a source of support for their peers throughout the year. The scheme is very successful at enabling students to have another source of support when they themselves or their friends have an issue. The Peer Mentors have also spoken to small groups of students about school/home life and also listen to year 7 read during registration.
There are lots of ways students can book an appointment to see a Peer Mentor:
·Speak to their form teacher
·Speak to Mrs Bailey our Attendance and Pastoral Officer.
Alternatively, students can approach a Peer Mentor around school during the day if they prefer, Peer Mentors will be wearing an orange Peer Mentor badge.
For further details please contact Mrs Bailey in school.
