The year 11 rugby team ended the season on an emphatic high winning the Lancashire Vase final against a strong St. Edward's side. The game, which took place at Liverpool St. Helens Rugby Club, finished 27-22 to the red and whites. A. Clarke powered over the try line early in the game and E. Whitbread scored a couple of wonderful tries following some fancy footwork. Audenshaw were ahead by 5 points at half time and were showing to be clearly the dominant side. St. Edward's did come close to causing an upset in the latter stages of the game as their powerful forwards managed to gain some momentum but, further tries from Z. Ravasz and H. Vernon ensured that Audenshaw were victorious. The boys have worked extremely hard this season. A season in which they have beaten lots of our private school rivals in their Saturday fixtures and now have some silverware to celebrate also. This is the end of an era for many of these boys who have represented the school for 5 years. We wish them every luck in their sporting careers and hope they look back fondly on their time playing together at Audenshaw school. Well done year 11 and all the best for the future. Mr. Sutherland.
