Fun in the Sun for the Y4 students at Russell Scott enjoying their athletics lesson with Mr Rose
The Audenshaw U15's secured their place in the third round of the Lancashire Schools Cup with a resounding victory over The Radclyffe Academy in Oldham yesterday. Having won the toss, the home side elected to bowl but were quickly made to regret this decision as Audenshaw openers, Joe Turner and Ethan Bradshaw set about making light work of the home attack. The visitors had already passed the 40 mark by the 5th over with skipper Bradshaw making his way to an unbeaten 80, which included five 4's and 2 6's within his tally. Turner too was impressive with the bat, hitting four boundaries on his way to 32 before being caught from the bowling of Downey to give Radclyffe their first wicket of the day. Harry Vernon was next in for Audenshaw and immediately proceeded to swing the bat as he hit a massive three sixes on his way to 20. Ben Ebrell contributed 14 to the total of 163/3 after the 20 overs and was not out following his partnerships with Vernon and Adam Owen.
Audenshaw set about the Radclyffe order with typical tenacity and dismissed the home team for just 41 runs. Joe Turner ended with stats of 3/10 off four overs, Harry Vernon with one wicket for nine runs from his four and Nawaz ended with 1/4 from a single over. Further wickets came from Ebbrell (2/7) from two and Ethan Bradshaw who also got himself in on the spoils with 1/4 from one. Audenshaw will head into the third round with great confidence after another dominant display where the likely opposition could include local rivals from West Hill. .
