The school is now closed for the Summer Holidays. National Standardised Grades Day will be taking place on Thursday… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
The visit aimed to give our students some experience of a workplace environment where students explored the wide variety of job roles in the company. They had the opportunity to ask employees about their specific roles, what they do on a day to day basis and how they contribute to the wider company aims.
Students discovered the skills and qualities that employers are looking for in their workforce, however, eating copious amounts of biscuits wasn’t one of them! They looked at the skills they already had to offer even at 14 years old and how they need to develop further to be able to achieve their current career aspirations.
I would like to thank Brother UK and Gemma Crozier for allowing us to visit and for being so invested in our students.
Students gave some great feedback about their time on the trip:
“It has made me feel more determined so that when I am older I will try and get a better job” – W.Roe
“It has shown me the skills and qualities I need for my future” – D.Doyle
“This visit has made me realise that I need to push myself that extra bit more in lessons” – B.Slater
“It has shown me that if I want the grades then I need to work harder” – A.Gurnhill
“I have found out that there are many more things to do within a single job or company” – U.Mirza
