The 1st XV will face Silcoates School from Wakefield, West Yorkshire in the fourth round of the NATWEST National Vase Competition next week. Audenshaw turned in a brilliant fightback to eliminate King William's College last week, twice coming from behind to win the game 28-21 in front of a thrilled crowd. Decisive scores were registered from Dan Johnson, Ewan Roach and Dan Moriarty in the latter stages of the match to ensure that it was the red and whites who reach the last 32 in the country. The boys are now only one game away from emulating the achievements of the 1st XV of 2013/14 who advanced to round five of the same competition, the furthest of any Audenshaw 1st XV, this in the year that the school's rugby program was named the best in the county by the Lancashire RFU. Silcoates will provide a stern test having eliminated their last three opponents including Prince Henry's Grammar School and Ermysted's by over 50 points but it will be a memorable and exciting test for Audenshaw in what will be one of our biggest games ever.
