The Audenshaw U12 Cricket Team are through to the semi-final of the 2016/17 Lancashire Schools Plate following their victory over Archbishop Temple School from Preston. The men from Hazel Street won the toss and opted to bat first with the exceptional Tamoor, retiring with an unbeaten 30. Owen was sadly dismissed for just for just 1 but a decent 19 from Bilal added to the total with Parry- Boardman, Taylor and Cranage all making solid contributions. After 20 overs, Audenshaw had registered a total of 101 that their Lancashire rivals would have to chase. The visitors began strongly in response but some fine work from the Audenshaw attack would seek to limit the run chase with Tamoor (0-20), Al Karim (0-12) and Stopford (0-14) slowing their assault. The breakthrough was provided by Ali Hassan Qasir who finished with 2-16 and Max Owen (1-12) with the latter also bowling superbly at the death as Archbishop Temple looked for 7 to win from the last over. A tense climax saw Audenshaw to victory by two runs and with it a place in the semi- final beckons with Bacup the team in the way of another final for Audenshaw. We congratulate the boys on this achievement and wish them all the best for the four. .
