The Audenshaw Sharks Swim Team were in action on Saturday November 18th in the ESSA National Relay Finals at the Olympic Park in London. The intermediate boys team of Wunnai Tam, Alex Campbell, Jolan Bennett and Kian Tevlin qualified for both the medley and freestyle finals after a stunning display at the North West Regional Championships at Everton in October. The boys are no strangers to English Schools' flagship event having contested the 2015 showpiece during their time in the junior classification. The boys came a creditable 6th in the medley race which included the likes of Milfield School and Plymouth College, coming 20th in the country overall and the highest ranked state school in this event. A time of 1.53.19 in the freestyle was again a great time in the long course pool and crowned a brilliant overall weekend for the boys who continue to set the standards within the state sector swimming. Audenshaw remain the only Tameside School to provide an elite swimming program and represented both their district and region with distinction. The Sharks return to action on Tuesday November 21st against Bolton School followed by the annual gala with The Grammar School at Leeds on December 1st.
