Audenshaw School Rugby embarked upon their fifth international tour in the last eight years with a tour of Spain over the Easter break. The combination U14 & U15 squad enjoyed a superb week based around the city of Madrid, during which they enjoyed two victories in two games over Tres Cantos RFC and Liceo De Francais respectively. Team Captain, Joe Smillie took the man of the match honours in game one with Ethan Whitbread taking the accolade in the second encounter. The week was filled with exciting trips and visits around the busy training and playing schedule including a stadium tour of the Bernabeu, home of Real Madrid FC, sightseeing and a scavenger hunt around the city centre, a morning at the world renowned Madrid Zoo and a day in the incredible walled city of Toledo. The tour leaves the boys with experiences, frienships and memories for life as well as playing a fundamental role in their development as Audenshaw School Rugby players. We look forward to planning our next sports tour in the coming weeks to follow the football team's visit to Eindhoven in 2019.
